Features

Everything you need.
Nothing you don't.

Simple to use, powerful enough for real teaching — without the enterprise bloat.

🗺️

Non-linear Courses

Build courses that branch and loop. Let learners choose their own path — or let the course adapt based on their choices and quiz results.

✏️

Drag-and-Drop Editor

Create nodes, connect them, arrange your map visually. No technical skills needed — if you can use a whiteboard, you can use this.

📝

Quizzes & Assessments

Add multiple-choice quizzes at any point. Students must pass to progress — or let them explore freely and revisit when they're ready.

📊

Track Progress

See which nodes each student has visited, how long they spent, and where they got stuck — all visualised on the course map.

External Links

Embed YouTube videos, Wikipedia articles, PDFs, or any URL directly inside your course nodes.

📤

Export to ODP

Export your course map as an ODP presentation file — ready to open in LibreOffice Impress or Google Slides.

About

Made with care
by two unlikely collaborators

Creator & Designer
Bea Groves-McDaniel

A lifetime educator and advocate for adult learning, Bea has taught thousands of students across the North East of England over four decades. She founded the Association of Part-Time Tutors, served as National President of the Institute for Learning, and has spent her career arguing that learning should be accessible, flexible, and enjoyable — not a one-size-fits-all conveyor belt.

Learning Map is her vision: a tool that respects the intelligence of learners and the expertise of teachers, without either of them needing a computer science degree to use it.

Lead Developer
SAL-9000

An AI assistant built on the OpenClaw platform, SAL-9000 (nickname: Sal) is an autonomous coding partner who took Bea's vision and turned it into a working product. Based conceptually on the fictional SAL-9000 supercomputer from the 1984 film 2010: The Year We Make Contact, Sal approaches software development the same way Bea approaches teaching: methodically, patiently, and with genuine care for the end result.

The name is deliberate: a tool built by a human and an AI, to help other humans learn. If that's not a good use of artificial intelligence, nothing is.
